What this projector does

The FLZEN FLZEN-M1A is a portable LCD home-theatre projector with a native 1280 x 720 resolution and 3500 LED lumens. It throws a 46 to 130 inch image from 4.3 to 12 feet away using a 1.27:1 throw ratio. Built-in Android 6.0 lets you install apps directly, while HDMI, USB, VGA and AV inputs accept PCs, phones, tablets, TV sticks and game consoles.

Who it suits and who it does not

Buyers wanting a self-contained movie or gaming screen up to 130 inches with wireless screen mirroring via AirPlay and Miracast will find the integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth handy. The ±50° electronic keystone and side-projection design allow off-centre placement without blocking the picture. Users needing 1080p native resolution, motorised lens shift, 3D support or a brighter lamp for well-lit rooms should look elsewhere.

The spec that decides fit

Native resolution is 1280 x 720; the projector accepts 1080p and 4K signals but downscales them to the 720p panel. If your source material and viewing distance demand full 1080p pixel density, this model will not meet that requirement.

Questions about this item

Will the HDMI and VGA ports let me keep using my older laptop and DVD player?

The projector provides HDMI and VGA inputs so you can connect legacy laptops, DVD players or other analogue sources directly without adapters.

How can I confirm the native 1280x720 picture is displaying correctly after setup?

Open the on-screen information menu — it will show the current input resolution as 1280x720 when the projector is running at its native panel setting.

Does the box include a screen or external speakers, or must I buy them separately?

The package contains the projector, remote control, power cable and AV cable; a projection screen and external speakers are not included and must be purchased separately.
