PC Strategy DLC for Steam

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada – Tau Empire DLC adds a playable alien faction to the base game on Windows PC. The expansion introduces new ships, castes and a unique Warfare system focused on long-range firepower and specialised auxiliary vessels. Activation requires a Steam account and ownership of the base game Battlefleet Gothic: Armada. The content was released on 28 September 2016.

For admirals who want a new faction

This DLC suits players who already own the base game and want to command the Tau Empire’s long-range fleets and unique auxiliary ships such as the Kroot Warsphere and Nicassar Dhow. It does not suit buyers who do not own Battlefleet Gothic: Armada on Steam, as the base game is required to play. The product is also unavailable in several blocked regions listed in the specifications.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Tau Empire DLC after buying the online game code?

Redeem the code in Steam, ensure the base game Battlefleet Gothic: Armada is already installed, then the DLC will download and appear in your library ready to play.

Will this DLC need any future patches or separate updates after installation?

Updates are delivered automatically through Steam alongside the base game patches; no separate manual maintenance is required for the DLC itself.

What is the first limitation I will hit when playing the Tau fleet in long campaign sessions?

The Tau fleet excels at long-range damage but lacks turning agility — Kroot Warspheres cannot turn except with an All Ahead Full command, so sustained close-quarters engagements expose that weakness first.
