A 2-port 4K 60 Hz HDMI KVM switch lets you control two computers with one keyboard, mouse and monitor, includes USB 2.0 peripheral sharing, EDID emulation and a remote
This FOCUSTEC unit lets you operate two computers or servers from a single keyboard, mouse and monitor. It is suited to home-office workers, small-studio editors or anyone who wants to reclaim desk space without adding a second display. A built-in USB 2.0 hub also shares peripherals such as scanners, flash drives, 3D printers or webcams between the connected systems.
The switch draws its operating power from the attached computers so no external adapter is required and no fan noise is produced. Typical consumption stays well within the limits of a standard USB 2.0 port, keeping heat output negligible even during extended sessions. EDID emulation maintains the active resolution and icon layout when you change sources, avoiding display re-negotiation delays.
Two 5-foot combined HDMI and USB cables are included so both computers can be connected immediately. A handheld infrared remote (CR2025 battery not supplied) adds one-button switching from across the room, while front-panel push buttons, keyboard hotkeys and mouse gestures provide alternative control methods. No software installation is needed on either host machine.

Connect both computers using the included 5ft KVM cables to the HDMI and USB 2.0 ports, then attach your keyboard, mouse and monitor; the step often missed is inserting the CR2025 battery into the remote before first use.
The remote control requires a CR2025 battery which is not included; replace it when switching becomes unreliable, otherwise the switch itself has no user-serviceable parts.
The USB 2.0 peripheral port caps data transfer at USB 2.0 speeds, so high-bandwidth devices like fast external drives will hit that ceiling before the 3840x2160 60Hz video path does.
