Avocado Huggers 2-piece set

The set includes one large and one small silicone sleeve designed to fit halved or sliced avocados. They replace plastic wrap, foil, zip-top bags and rigid containers that often lose their lids. The patented hug design stretches around the exposed fruit while leaving the peel uncovered. This helps slow browning and reduces single-use plastic waste in the kitchen.

Practical limits of the silicone seal

The air-tight seal works on the cut surface with or without the pit left in place. When the pit is removed, the centre circle presses directly into the avocado flesh to maintain contact. The sleeves are microwave safe and freezer safe for reheating or long-term storage. They contain no BPA, phthalates or plastic, meeting food-safe silicone standards.

Build quality and daily handling

Each hugger is made from thick, rip-resistant silicone that withstands repeated stretching and dishwasher cycles. The material stays flexible in cold temperatures and does not degrade in the microwave. Packaged in recycled cardboard, the pair takes up minimal refrigerator space compared to bulkier containers. A lifetime warranty from the US-based inventor-owned business backs the durability claim.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the large or the small Avocado Hugger for my avocado?

The set includes one large and one small hugger so you can match either half; the stretchy silicone fits most sizes without needing to choose.

How well does the airtight seal actually keep a cut avocado from browning in the fridge?

The patented hug design presses directly onto the exposed fruit creating an airtight seal that slows oxidation and keeps the half fresh longer.

Is the silicone safe for dishwasher, microwave and freezer use?

Yes — the BPA-free, phthalate-free silicone is rated dishwasher safe, microwave safe and reusable in the freezer.
