Industrial network security

The FortiGate Rugged 70G-5G-DUAL is a DIN-rail firewall appliance built for harsh indoor environments. It delivers 8 Gbps IPv4 firewall throughput at 1518, 512 and 64 byte packet sizes with 12 Mpps packet processing and 5.82 µs latency. Dual 5G modems with active-active SIM slots provide resilient cellular WAN connectivity across all regions.

Replacing basic routers

This unit replaces consumer-grade routers or single-modem gateways when uptime and deterministic latency matter. The jump is worth it for sites that need consolidated FortiGuard AI-powered security services, built-in SD-WAN traffic steering and passive GPS timing without adding separate boxes. Buyers who require PoE switching or more than six copper ports should look elsewhere.

DIN-rail deployment

Fanless construction and a 26.2 W maximum draw simplify cabinet installation on standard DIN rail. Dual power inputs allow redundant feeds without external relays. Two SFP slots accept fibre uplinks, while the bypass pair maintains traffic flow during power loss. Installers must provision 5.47 × 4.1 × 4.8 in clearance and route eight external 5G antennae plus one GPS SMA antenna.
