Outdoor Infrared Cart Heater

The Fostoria PCH-48C is a mobile infrared heater built for outdoor and jobsite use. Its galvanized steel housing and wheel-based cart mount let it move across patios, workshops or construction areas. A single rocker switch controls the 1,500 W output on a standard 120 V AC circuit.

Adjustable Stand and Safety Features

The stand height adjusts from 2 ft to 6 ft, letting operators direct heat toward work zones or seating areas. A tip-over switch cuts power if the unit is knocked over, while the fixed single heat setting keeps operation simple. The NEMA 5-15P plug connects directly to common household or generator outlets.

Heating Capacity and Limits

At 1,500 W the heater delivers focused infrared warmth for spot heating rather than whole-space conditioning. It comfortably handles targeted tasks such as thawing pipes, curing finishes or warming a small crew. Output drops off beyond the immediate beam, so larger open areas will require multiple units.

Questions about this item

How often will the tip-over switch need checking or replacement?

The safety tip-over switch is a sealed component with no user-serviceable parts; it requires no scheduled maintenance or replacement interval.

What limits continuous operation on the single 1500 W setting?

The unit has no thermal overheat protection, so the 1500 W element itself sets the practical limit during sustained use.

How much heat and noise does the 120 V infrared element produce when running all day?

The 1500 W infrared element emits steady radiant heat with no fan, so audible noise is negligible while surface temperatures rise to typical infrared levels.
