Pro adapter for Contarex CRX lenses

This Fotodiox Pro adapter mounts Contarex CRX-mount lenses on Fujifilm X-series camera bodies such as the X-Pro1, X-E1, X-M1, X-A1, X-E2 and X-T1. Precision machining eliminates play between lens and mount while guaranteeing infinity focus. The all-metal anodised aluminium construction provides a smooth mounting surface built for professional use.

Manual aperture control via built-in dial

A dedicated declicked aperture control dial on the adapter lets you adjust the lens iris smoothly without click stops. This design suits video work where silent, stepless exposure changes are required. No electronic communication occurs between lens and camera, so exposure is managed entirely through the mechanical dial.

Adapts larger format glass to smaller sensor

Using Contarex lenses on the smaller APS-C sensor exploits the centre of the image circle for improved edge-to-edge sharpness and reduced distortion. The adapter includes a 24 month manufacturer warranty. Photographers needing autofocus, electronic aperture control or compatibility with other lens mounts will require a different solution.

Questions about this item

How do I mount a Contarex CRX lens onto a Fujifilm X body and set the correct flange distance?

Align the red dot on the adapter with the camera mount, twist until it locks, then attach the lens to the adapter; the precision-machined metal construction guarantees the correct flange distance for infinity focus without shims.

Will the built-in aperture control dial need lubrication or replacement over time?

The all-metal anodized aluminium dial runs on dry tolerances and requires no lubrication; normal use will not wear the detents, so no scheduled maintenance or replacement is expected.

At what point does the adapter limit the maximum aperture of a Contarex f/1.4 lens on an APS-C sensor?

The adapter imposes no optical restriction; the effective aperture remains f/1.4, and the 35 mm-format image circle simply covers the smaller APS-C frame with the centre sweet spot.
