Portable Fly-Repellent Fan Set

This four-pack of Fretech Ventiladores de Escritorio fans uses spinning holographic blades to deter flies from food during outdoor meals. Each unit stands 9.8 inches tall with compact dimensions of 3.3 by 4.5 inches. The 2-blade brushless motor runs on 3 watts and is powered by two AA batteries (not included).

Suited for outdoor diners, not for large areas

Buyers who want a quiet, chemical-free way to keep insects off picnic or restaurant tables will find these lightweight, portable fans simple to place or hang via the bottom ring. They are not intended for buyers who need wide-area insect control or a single device to cover an entire patio, because the refractive effect works only in the immediate vicinity of each fan.

Holographic refraction is the deciding factor

The blades create coloured light refraction while spinning 360 degrees across a 15.7-inch span, which insects perceive as dangerous and avoid. Soft-touch blades stop on contact for safety, but the housing cannot be retracted once pulled apart, so consider storage space before purchase.

Questions about this item

How much power does the 3-watt brushless motor draw during all-day use?

Each fan runs on a 3-watt brushless motor, so electrical usage stays at 3 watts per unit even during continuous operation.

What power source must I supply for the four fans to operate?

The set requires eight AA batteries in total — two per fan — which are not included in the package.

Will the 15.7-inch soft blades clear the edges of a standard rectangular table?

The 15.7-inch blade span gives a wide coverage area; for large tables the manufacturer recommends using multiple fans to keep the entire surface protected.
