Compact USB stereo speakers for desk use

The Frisby Audio FS-910 is a 2.0 speaker set that draws power and audio from a single USB connection. It delivers 8 watts total output with a 100 hertz frequency response for music, video and calls. The compact black cabinets measure 3.75 in by 3.25 in by 3.6 in and weigh .44 kilograms.

Check your ports and power budget

You need one free USB-A port that can supply 5 volts for both power and signal. A 3.5 mm auxiliary input is also present if you prefer analogue audio from a headphone jack. No driver installation is required on Windows, Mac or Linux, but verify your OS selects the USB audio device automatically.

Upgrades basic monitor or laptop speakers

This set replaces the thin sound built into most displays or notebooks with richer stereo separation and deeper bass. The jump is worth it when you want louder, clearer audio for conferencing or media without adding a separate power brick. It does not suit users who need a subwoofer, surround sound or wireless streaming.

Questions about this item

Does the FS-910 include everything needed to connect to my laptop, or must I buy a separate 3.5 mm audio cable?

The package contains the USB cable only; a 3.5 mm audio cable is not included and must be purchased separately if your device requires an analogue connection.

With a single 8 W total-output model, how do I know this version suits my desk instead of a higher-power alternative?

The 8 W total rating is designed for near-field desktop listening; the compact 3.75 x 3.25 x 3.6 in cabinets fit beside a monitor without crowding the workspace.

What does the 100 Hz low-frequency figure mean when I am sitting at my computer?

The 100 Hz limit means the speakers reproduce mid-bass and higher; very deep bass below that point will not be audible, so music and voice stay clear but sub-bass effects are absent.
