Purpose-built document scanner

The Fuji FI-7140 is a duplex document scanner designed for office digitisation workflows. It captures both sides of a page in a single pass using a CCD sensor and white LED illumination at 600 x 600 dpi resolution. The unit connects via USB 2.0 and draws 36 watts during operation.

Suited for batch archiving.

This scanner suits teams that process high volumes of standard documents and business cards into searchable archives. Its 5.5 kilogram weight and mains-powered design make it a fixed desktop device. Buyers who need battery operation, wireless connectivity or a compact footprint for mobile use should consider other form factors.

Handles A4 and business cards.

The maximum scan area of 216 x 355.6 mm accommodates A4, letter and smaller formats including business cards. Duplex scanning at full optical resolution is constrained by the USB 2.0 interface, so very large batch jobs at 600 dpi will take longer than on faster interfaces. The 36 watt power draw is modest for continuous duty cycles.

Questions about this item

What USB cable and host port does the FI-7140 need to operate?

The FI-7140 connects through a USB 2.0 cable to a USB 2.0 or compatible host port on the computer.

Will the scanner still feed documents reliably if I keep using an older USB 1.1 port?

The FI-7140 is specified for USB 2.0; on a USB 1.1 port the transfer rate drops and duplex feeding may become unreliable.

How can I confirm the scanner is capturing at the rated 600 dpi after installation?

Scan a test page and check the image properties — the file should report 600 x 600 dpi resolution.
