Duplex color scanner with 80-sheet ADF scans up to 40 ppm simplex and 80 ipm duplex at 600 dpi optical resolution
The Fujitsu fi-7240 is a colour duplex document scanner built for offices that need fast, unattended batch capture. It combines an 80-sheet automatic document feeder with a flatbed for mixed originals, handling paper from 50.8 x 54 mm up to 216 x 355.6 mm and long documents to 5,588 mm.
Operating power is 39 W or less, dropping to 1.8 W in sleep and 0.35 W in auto standby. The scanner runs on AC 100-240 V at 50/60 Hz without an external brick. Rated environment is 5 to 35 °C at 20 to 80 % non-condensing humidity.
Optical resolution is 600 dpi with 24-bit colour, 8-bit greyscale and 1-bit monochrome output. Speed reaches 40 ppm simplex or 80 ipm duplex at 200/300 dpi via USB 2.0. Buyers who need higher optical detail or a faster host interface should look elsewhere.

Connect the scanner to a USB 2.0 port, install the PaperStream IP driver from the included media, then run the Scanner Central Admin Suite to register the device; the step often missed is completing the Admin Suite registration before the first scan batch.
The pick rollers and brake rollers in the 80-sheet ADF wear with high-volume use and should be replaced when multi-feed errors increase; the three white LED arrays and three CCD sensors are sealed and not user-serviceable.
Continuous duplex scanning at 80 ipm will hit the 39 W power ceiling and the ADF motor thermal limit before the 600 dpi optical resolution or 24-bit color depth become bottlenecks.
