Questions about this item

How do I connect the 4.5 x 3.0mm blue tip to my HP EliteBook 840 G3?

Align the blue tip with the charging port and push straight in until it seats firmly; the step people miss is not inserting it fully, which leaves the connection loose.

When will the power cord or connector need replacement?

Replace the cord if the insulation frays, the plug pins bend, or the blue tip becomes loose in the port; the adapter itself has no user-serviceable parts.

At what sustained load does the adapter hit its thermal limit?

Continuous 65 W output (19.5 V at 3.33 A) will trigger the internal over-temperature protection before the lower 45 W rating does.
