Galyimage 873Max 4K Webcam

The Galyimage 873Max is a USB 2.0 video capturing device that delivers Ultra HD 4K resolution at 3840 by 2160 pixels using a Sony 1/2.5-inch sensor with an 8 megapixel count. It supports 4K at 30 frames per second and 1080P at 60 frames per second, defaulting to 1080P until switched via software. A built-in microphone and privacy cover complete the package for streaming and conferencing.

Streamers needing PDAF and 78° field of view

The PDAF autofocus tracks moving subjects quickly, keeping the presenter sharp during active presentations, while the 78° lens frames a portrait without excessive background. Buyers who require higher frame rates at 4K, a narrower field of view for privacy, or wireless connectivity should look elsewhere, as this model is limited to USB 2.0 bandwidth and fixed optics.

USB 2.0 plug-and-play with Compact Flash slot

The webcam connects through a single USB 2.0 port for power and data, requiring no external adapter, and includes a Compact Flash card slot for local capture. It frees up desk space by integrating the microphone and privacy shutter, though the USB 2.0 interface caps 4K output at 30 fps and does not support uncompressed high-bitrate workflows.

Questions about this item

What type of USB port does the Galyimage 873Max need on my computer?

The webcam connects through a USB 2.0 port, which is present on virtually all desktops and laptops from the last decade.

Will the 78° field of view still frame me properly if I keep my older 1080p monitor?

Yes, the 78° lens is tuned for a single-person portrait regardless of display resolution, so your existing monitor does not affect framing.

How can I confirm the camera is actually streaming at 4K after I change the setting?

Open the webcam software or OBS, set the output to 3840×2160 at 30 fps, and verify the active resolution shown in the preview or statistics panel.
