Voltage-Sensing Wire Stripper

The Gardner Bender GST-55M combines a non-contact voltage detector with a wire stripper for solid and stranded conductors. It alerts the user with visible and audible signals when AC voltage between 50 and 600 volts is present. The tool handles wire sizes from 10 to 18 AWG and includes bolt cutting and rethreading stations.

Before Ordering

Confirm that the circuits you work on operate within the 50 to 600 volt AC detection range of the sensor. Verify that the conductors you strip fall between 10 and 18 AWG and are solid or stranded copper. The tool is supplied as a single unit in a clamshell package with no additional accessories included.

Build Integration

The spring-loaded mechanism and dual-grip handle allow forward or standard gripping positions for repeated stripping tasks. Integrated wire loop holes and a wire cutter reduce the need to reach for separate tools on the job. Nickel-resistant double-bevel blades help maintain cutting performance over extended use.
