Compact 180° dash cam for daily driving

The Garmin Dash Cam 66W records 1440P video through a 180-degree lens, capturing cross traffic and roadside detail. Garmin clarity HDR improves low-light footage. Voice control works in English, French, Italian, Spanish, German and Swedish. Driver alerts include forward collision, lane departure and go warnings. Red-light and speed-camera alerts are updatable where available.

Check power mount and micro SD before fitting

The unit draws power from a vehicle socket and mounts on the windscreen; verify the socket stays live when the ignition is off if you want parking recording. An 8 GB class-10 micro SD card is required and not supplied. The Garmin Drive app on a smartphone handles playback, settings and multi-camera sync. Up to four cameras can be linked wirelessly for 360° coverage.

Thermals noise and power in normal use

The camcorder has no moving parts and runs silently inside the cabin. Power draw is low, supplied by the vehicle outlet. The compact body dissipates heat passively during continuous loop recording. Travelapse condenses hours of driving into short clips without increasing thermal load.
