Sony Alpha 7 III 24.2MP Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera with 28-70mm Lens

What the Sony Alpha 7 III kit delivers

The Sony Alpha 7 III is a full-frame mirrorless camera built around a back-illuminated 24.2MP Exmor R CMOS sensor. It includes the 28-70mm zoom lens for immediate shooting. The sensor uses copper wiring and a front-end LSI for faster data readout. ISO range runs from 50 to 204,800 for low-light flexibility.

Installing and using the camera system

Mount the 28-70mm lens by aligning the index marks and turning until it clicks. Charge the supplied Z battery fully before first use; it provides long-lasting power for extended sessions. Navigate the menu to set focus area and drive mode. The dense 693 phase-detection and 425 contrast-detection AF points cover a wide area, but very low-contrast scenes may still hunt.

Who this kit suits and who should look elsewhere

This kit suits photographers and videographers who want a 35 mm full-frame sensor with 4K HDR movie recording and reliable Eye AF in AF-C mode. It is less suited for buyers who need a longer telephoto reach beyond 70mm or who require specialised video outputs not listed here. Those needing higher resolution than 24.2MP should consider other options.
