What this charger does and who uses it

The Garystat G048AC connects to a 12–24 V vehicle battery through an SAE quick-disconnect plug and provides two USB outputs. It suits motorcycle, ATV and bike riders who need to charge a phone, tablet or GPS while riding. The built-in voltmeter and ammeter show real-time input voltage and current, and an ON/OFF switch cuts power without unplugging the SAE lead.

Sustained-load behaviour

The adapter delivers up to 27 W from the USB-C port (5 V/3 A, 9 V/3 A, 12 V/2.25 A) and 18 W from the USB-A port (5 V/3 A, 9 V/2 A, 12 V/1.5 A). When both ports are used together the combined output is limited to 15 W at 5 V/3 A. Multi-level protection includes input reverse-polarity, undervoltage, over-temperature and USB output over-current and short-circuit safeguards that activate continuously during extended charging sessions.

Installation and common pitfalls

A 1.1 m SAE extension cable and five zip ties are supplied; the housing has a zip-tie hole for securing the unit to a frame or bar. A dustproof cover protects the ports when not in use. The manufacturer cautions against prolonged exposure to rain and advises disconnecting the battery if the vehicle is stored long term. If a connected device overheats, charges very slowly or stops charging suddenly, unplug immediately and inspect before reuse.
