45 W USB-C Power Adapter

This 45 W USB-C power adapter delivers 5 V at 3 A, 9 V at 3 A, 15 V at 3 A and 20 V at 2.25 A from a 100-240 V 1.3 A 50-60 Hz input. It uses a USB-C connector and is built around a lithium-ion design for broad laptop compatibility.

Wide Brand Compatibility

The charger fits many HP models such as Spectre x360, Elitebook x360, Elite x2 and Chromebook 14. It also matches Lenovo ThinkPad T480, T480s, X1 Carbon, Yoga 720 and Chromebook 300e and 100e, plus Dell Latitude 5420, 5520, 7400, 7410, 7420, XPS 13 and Chromebook 3100, Acer Chromebook Spin 311 and 315, Asus Chromebook and Samsung Chromebook 4 and Plus.

Single Fixed 45 W Output

The unit provides only the four fixed voltage steps listed, so it cannot supply higher power profiles such as 60 W or 100 W that larger laptops require. Buyers whose devices need more than 45 W should look at a higher-wattage adapter.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the charger is delivering the correct 45W output after plugging it into my laptop?

The USB-C connector should negotiate 20V at 2.25A for full 45W charging; your laptop's battery indicator will show the charging rate once connected.

What comes in the box and do I need to buy a separate cable?

The adapter has a fixed USB-C cable attached, so no extra cable is required for the listed HP, Lenovo, Dell, Acer, Asus, Samsung, Google or Huawei models.

Which voltage profile should I rely on for a Dell Latitude 7420 versus an HP Spectre x360?

Both devices will draw 20V at 2.25A from the charger's highest PDO; the adapter also provides 5V/3A, 9V/3A and 15V/3A for phones or tablets.
