Extends four USB 2.0 ports up to 196 ft over Cat5e/6/6a/7 cable with plug-and-play operation and built-in surge protection
This GCROWN KVM switch extends four USB 2.0 ports up to 196 feet over a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable. It is built for installers who need to place keyboards, mice, webcams or other peripherals far from the host computer. The transmitter draws power from the host USB port while the receiver uses a locking 12 V DC adapter. No driver installation is required on Windows, macOS, Android or Linux.
The extender delivers up to 480 Mbps bandwidth and handles two webcams simultaneously for video conferencing or surveillance. Mounting ears on the receiver simplify fixed installations in racks or on walls. FCC and CE certification plus 8 kV air-gap and 4 kV contact ESD protection reduce the risk of damage from static discharge. The package includes the lockable power adapter for the receiver side.
The single specification that decides fit is the 60-metre (196-foot) extension distance over Cat5e/6/6a/7 cabling. If your peripheral location is within that range and you have a spare Ethernet run, this unit works; if you need longer reach or fibre-based extension, this model cannot meet the requirement.

The receiver uses a lockable DC 12V adapter with a locking connector for a solid installation; no user-serviceable parts are mentioned, so the adapter would only need attention if it fails.
The link is rated for up to 480 Mbps over Cat5e/6/6a/7 at 60 m; sustained use stays within the USB 2.0 high-speed specification, so cable quality and length are the practical limits.
The unit has no fan and draws power from a lockable DC 12V adapter; with only passive components it runs silently and generates minimal heat during continuous operation.
