The GCROWN USB 3.0 sharing switch lets one USB 3.0 device or hub move between two computers with a single button press. LED indicators show which system currently controls the attached peripherals. It is aimed at users who share a docking station, keyboard, mouse or graphics adapter across a pair of USB-enabled machines without installing extra software.

One upstream device with two hosts

A single USB 3.0 peripheral or powered hub connects to the switch and is presented to whichever computer is active. The switch does not support USB-C or Thunderbolt docks that rely on Power Delivery or Alt Mode video, so those configurations cannot be used. Cable runs should stay under 1.8 m to the peripheral and the supplied 3.3 ft cables are recommended for the host links.

Passive operation with no driver overhead

The unit draws power from the host USB ports and adds no active cooling, so it runs silently and without measurable thermal output. Because it is a pure USB 3.0 electrical switch, there is no firmware to update and no driver load on either computer beyond what the attached devices already require. It is not suited for setups that need simultaneous access from both machines or for Thunderbolt-based docking stations.
