A bi-directional USB 3.0 switch shares one peripheral between two computers with one-click switching and 5 Gbps data rates
The GCROWN USB 3.0 Switch Selector lets a single peripheral such as a printer, scanner, keyboard or mouse serve two computers with a single button press. It is aimed at home-office users and small teams who want to reduce cable clutter without installing extra software. The unit works driver-free on Windows, Mac OS and Linux, and LEDs indicate which system is active.
The switch passes data at up to 5Gbps and remains backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices. The supplier advises against using it for mass-storage devices such as hard drives, flash drives or memory cards. For reliable operation the host cables should be the 1.1 m leads supplied and peripheral cables kept under 1.8 m.
A USB hub can be plugged into the shared port so multiple peripherals switch together, freeing additional ports on each computer. The bi-directional design also allows one computer to access two separate devices, giving flexibility for mixed workflows. No external power supply is mentioned in the specifications.

The 5 Gbps ceiling is the USB 3.0 interface maximum; real-world throughput for printers, keyboards or mice will be far lower and limited by the peripheral itself, not the switch.
It uses USB 3.0 (5 Gbps) and is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1; the standard caps the theoretical bandwidth at 5 Gbps and the recommended host cable length at 1 m.
Two USB A-to-A cables (3.3 ft each) are included for the computers; keep the peripheral cable under 1.8 m and plug into the single downstream USB A port.
