GE Wireless Doorbell Kit

The GE 19247 kit provides a battery-operated wireless chime and push button for homes that want a simple entrance alert without wiring. It suits renters or owners who need quick installation using the included mounting hardware.

Wireless range and expandability

The chime communicates with push buttons up to 150ft away and can pair with up to four wireless buttons for multiple entry points. Battery power on both units means placement is not limited by mains outlets or cable runs.

Power requirements

Each push button includes a CR2032 cell while the chime requires three AA batteries that are not supplied in the box. Buyers who want a mains-powered unit or a model with a built-in rechargeable battery should choose a different product.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the single-button kit or add extra push buttons for more entrances?

The chime pairs with up to four wireless push buttons, so one kit covers the front door and you can add buttons for back or side entries later.

What does the 150 ft range mean when walls and floors are in the way?

The 150 ft figure is an open-air maximum; interior walls, metal doors and interference will reduce the practical distance, so test the chime location before final mounting.

Does the wireless link use Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or a proprietary RF standard, and what does that limit?

The kit uses a proprietary RF link rather than Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, so it cannot connect to smart-home hubs or phones and is limited to the paired chime and buttons only.
