GE 34289 LED T8 Tube Case
This case contains twenty 48‑inch glass T8 tubes that plug directly into existing compatible ballasts. Each lamp draws 14 watts and emits 2000 lumens at a 3500K colour temperature. The medium bi‑pin G13 base matches standard T8 fluorescent sockets. Buyers upgrading office or retail fixtures from fluorescent to LED will find this a straightforward swap.
Type A Plug‑and‑Play Compatibility
The tubes operate only with a functional, compatible linear fluorescent ballast; no rewiring is required when that ballast is present. They will not work in T5 or T12 fixtures, so the existing ballast type must match the Type A requirement. The glass construction adds shatter resistance for safer handling during installation. Each tube replaces one fluorescent lamp on a one‑for‑one basis.
Verify Ballast and Fixture Before Ordering
Confirm that the current fixtures use T8 lamps with a compatible electronic ballast listed by the ballast manufacturer. T5 or T12 fixtures cannot accept these tubes. Ensure the supply voltage is 120 volts and that the ballast is in working order. If the ballast is incompatible or failed, the tubes will not light.

Questions about this item
Will the 14 watt LED tubes need a new ballast or just the lamps themselves?
These are Type A plug-and-play tubes that work with a compatible existing LFL ballast; no rewiring is needed if the ballast is functional.
What limits continuous operation of the 48 inch glass tubes in a fixture?
The tubes run at 14 watts and 2000 lumens each; sustained output depends on the ballast and fixture thermal design rather than the lamp alone.
How much heat and noise does a full case of 20 tubes generate when running all day?
Each tube draws 14 watts at 120 volts with no moving parts, so the lamps operate silently and their heat output equals their electrical draw.
