A single-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 50 A at 277/480 V AC with a 14 kA interrupting rating and thermal-magnetic trip
The GE TEY150 is a 50 A single-pole molded case breaker rated for 277/480 V AC and 125 V DC. It installs by bolting directly into compatible GE AE lighting panels. Thermal-magnetic trip units provide standard overload and short-circuit protection. The fixed instantaneous trip is set at 250 A.
The breaker carries a maximum AIR rating of 14 kA at 277 V AC. This defines the highest prospective fault current it can safely clear. Systems with available fault current above that level require a device with a higher interrupting capacity. The rating does not extend to 480 V AC.
Built on a 125 A TEY frame, the unit handles continuous loads up to its 50 A setting with headroom inside the frame rating. The bolt-on mounting occupies a single pole space measuring 5.25 in high, 1 in wide and 3.06 in deep. It is not suited for applications needing multi-pole protection or adjustable trip settings.

The 50 A TEY breaker fits a 125 A frame and bolts into GE AE lighting panels; select the 50 A unit when your branch circuit is sized for 50 A and the 125 A frame when the feeder requires the higher rating.
It means the breaker can safely interrupt up to 14 kA of fault current on a 277 V AC system, so the available short-circuit current at the panel must not exceed that value.
The bolt-on design only fits GE AE lighting panelboards, and the 277/480 V AC rating restricts use to systems where phase-to-phase voltage does not exceed 480 V AC.
