Single-pole 20 A HID bolt-on breaker rated 120/240 V AC with 10 kA interrupting capacity for lighting panels and load centres
The GE THQB 1-pole 20 A 120/240 V breaker is designed for high-intensity-discharge lighting loads in residential or light-commercial panels. It fits single-phase load centres that accept the THQB bolt-on frame and protects HID circuits with a dedicated trip curve. Electricians wiring new or retrofit lighting panels will find it matches the required frame size and voltage rating.
The breaker carries a maximum AIR of 10 kA at 120/240 V AC and is not rated for DC applications. It mounts only on bolt-on bus bars and accepts copper wire down to 14 MCM or aluminium down to 12 MCM via screw-clamp terminals. Panels requiring a higher interrupting rating or a different mounting style cannot use this device.
Installation consists of bolting the 3.5 in by 1 in frame onto the panel bus and tightening the screw-clamp terminals onto prepared conductors. The toggle actuator provides clear on-off indication. Common issues include mismatching the bolt-on foot pattern to a plug-on panel, using undersized wire below the 14 MCM copper minimum, or applying the breaker to non-HID loads that need a standard trip curve.

Choose the 20 A single-pole breaker when the circuit is rated for 20 amps; other amp ratings in the THQB series protect different load levels and will not fit the same design current.
It means the breaker can safely clear a fault current up to 10 kA at 120/240 V AC without damage, so the panel’s available fault current must not exceed that value.
The bolt-on base only fits GE load centres and lighting panels designed for the THQB frame; it will not snap into plug-on or competitive panel boards.
