A two-pole miniature circuit breaker rated 50 A at 120/240 V AC with a 10 kA interrupting capacity, DIN-rail or surface mount, and lug terminals for 8 to 3 AWG wire
This GE THQC miniature circuit breaker delivers 50 A of over-current protection for single-phase 120/240 V AC panels. It mounts on surface or DIN rail and uses a toggle actuator for manual reset. The 100 A frame size fits GE panelboards that accept THQC series devices. Lug terminals accept conductors from 8 AWG to 3 AWG.
The breaker carries a UL-listed AIR rating of 10 kA at 120/240 V AC, meaning it can safely interrupt fault currents up to that level. It has no DC voltage rating, so it must not be used on DC circuits. The standard trip curve protects branch circuits without selective coordination. Installers must verify the available fault current at the panel does not exceed the 10 kA rating.
At 50 A the device handles typical residential and light-commercial branch loads such as ranges, dryers or sub-panel feeds. The two-pole construction provides common-trip protection for both legs of a 240 V circuit. Loads exceeding 50 A or fault currents above 10 kA require a larger frame or higher AIR rating. The 3.3 in length, 2 in width and 2.4 in depth determine the panel space needed.
