Gearkeeper RT4-5850 key retractor

The Gearkeeper RT4-5850 is a compact key retractor built for professionals who need keys accessible at the hip. A rotating belt clip keeps the unit oriented correctly while moving. The 36 inch nylon cord extends to reach locks without unclipping. It suits office, maintenance and security staff who handle keys frequently.

36 inch extension with 7/8 inch split ring

The nylon line pays out to 36 inches, giving enough reach for door hardware at arm's length. A 7/8 inch split ring is included and fits standard key heads. The small housing keeps bulk low on a belt. The cord will not stretch further than the stated length, so very wide desk spans or high-mounted locks may be out of reach.

Replaces fixed clips and lanyards

This unit upgrades from static belt clips or neck lanyards that snag or limit motion. The retraction mechanism pulls keys back automatically when released. The jump is worth it for anyone who unlocks doors dozens of times a day and wants hands-free return. Users who only carry a single key occasionally may not need the mechanism.

Questions about this item

Will the 36 in retraction cord reach from my belt to a door lock while I stay seated in an older office chair?

The 36 in overall length lets the cord extend from a belt clip to a typical lock without standing up, so it works with the chair you already have.

How can I confirm the rotating belt clip is turning freely after I attach the RT4-5850?

Clip the unit to your belt, pull the nylon cord out fully and watch the clip rotate smoothly as the cord retracts — smooth rotation shows it is working as intended.

Does the package include the 7/8 in split key ring or do I need to buy one separately?

The 7/8 in split key ring is included in the box, so no separate purchase is required for key attachment.
