What the Gefen HD51 kit does

The Gefen HD51 is a wireless HDMI extender kit that sends 1080p video up to 100 feet using 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. It decodes a 4K input signal and outputs at 1080p resolution. Transmitter and receiver are pre-paired and powered through USB Type A ports for instant plug-and-play operation with laptops, desktops, game consoles, TV boxes or projectors.

Who this suits and who it does not

Presenters, teachers and home users who need cable-free 1080p links to monitors or projectors will find the kit simple and portable. Buyers who require native 4K output, longer range through walls or floors, or a dedicated power adapter should look at other solutions.

Capacity and headroom

The dual-band link comfortably handles 1080p streaming, presentations and casual gaming at distances up to 30 metres in open space. Throughput drops when obstacles block the signal; enclosed floors and ceilings can reduce range or cause drop-outs, so the kit runs out of headroom in heavily partitioned environments.

Questions about this item

Which HDMI source and USB power ports do I need on my laptop or console for the HD51 transmitter?

The transmitter connects to an HDMI output and draws power from a USB Type-A port on your laptop, desktop, PS5 or PS4.

Will the 5 GHz wireless link still reach 100 ft if I keep my older 2.4 GHz router nearby?

The kit uses dual-band 2.4G/5G operation with anti-interference design, so a nearby 2.4 GHz router should not prevent the 100 ft range in open spaces.

How can I confirm the HD51 is delivering 1080P video after pairing?

Check the display’s on-screen information for a 1080P signal and verify smooth, flicker-free playback from your source device.
