Everyday paper bags for light groceries

General 18406 Kraft bags are simple paper sacks with gussets that expand for bulky items. Self-opening thumb notches speed up packing at the checkout or in a home pantry. The economical design suits high-volume use without adding cost.

Replaces flimsy handled sacks that tear under weight

When thin plastic or non-gusseted paper bags split under cans or produce, these hold their shape and carry the load. The jump is worth it whenever breakage wastes product or slows the line.

Holds form during repeated filling and carrying

Gusseted sides keep the bag upright while loading so contents settle evenly. Kraft paper resists punctures from box corners during transport. The material stays rigid enough for multiple trips from store to shelf.

Questions about this item

How much counter space do the 18406 bags need when the gussets are fully expanded?

The gussets let each bag stand upright on its own, so only the flat footprint of the bag base is required; no extra rack or dispenser hardware is needed.

What is the correct way to open a bag using the self-opening thumb notches without tearing the Kraft paper?

Pinch the thumb notches on opposite sides and pull outward in one smooth motion; the bag pops open cleanly and the gussets fall into place.

When should the 18406 bags be replaced during high-volume use?

Replace a bag as soon as the Kraft paper shows moisture damage, tears at the gusset folds, or can no longer support the intended load.
