Flight Deck STEM Kit

The GENERIC SCFLTKIT Flight Deck is a STEM toy kit designed for children aged seven and older. It provides five distinct projects that teach principles of electricity, physics and aerodynamics through hands-on construction. The kit allows young builders to work independently using snap-together components that require no extra tools. It is suited for unisex use as an educational gift.

Battery Power and Quiet Operation

The kit operates on batteries that are not included in the package, so power draw depends on the cells chosen by the user. Projects such as the fan-driven levitation and spinning wheel run quietly enough for indoor play without disruptive noise. The lightweight plastic construction at 0.29 kilograms produces minimal vibration during motorised activities. There is no mains connection or external power supply involved.

Five Projects in One Box

The single specification that defines this kit is the inclusion of five unique projects: launching paper airplanes, flying saucers and balls, creating artistic patterns on a spinning wheel and levitating balls over a fan to demonstrate air pressure. Buyers who want a kit with more than five builds or advanced coding elements will need a different product. The colour is black and the assembled footprint measures 14.33in W x 12.83in H x 9.06in D.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Snap Circuits parts so the paper-airplane launcher actually fires?

Snap each coloured module onto the clear plastic grid following the numbered layout in the manual; the step most often missed is pressing the motor unit firmly until it clicks, otherwise the launcher spindle will not spin.

What will need replacing after repeated launches?

The kit ships without batteries, so you will need fresh AA cells when the fan and motor slow down; paper airplanes and foam saucers also wear out and can be remade from ordinary paper.

What stops the fan from levitating the ball during a long play session?

As the AA batteries drain below about 1.5 volts the fan speed drops and the air stream can no longer support the ball.
