Rugged convertible laptop for field work

The Getac V110 G4 is a rugged convertible laptop built for professionals who need a durable Windows 10 Pro device in harsh environments. It runs on a 7th Generation Intel Core i5-7200U processor with 8GB DDR4 memory and a 256GB solid state drive. The 11.6 inch HD touchscreen uses LumiBond 2.0 technology for sunlight readability. A sealed backlit keyboard and smart card reader support secure mobile workflows.

Connectivity limits of the 802.11ac

Wireless connectivity relies on Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 8265 with Bluetooth 4.2, which caps throughput at the 802.11ac standard. Four USB 3.0 ports provide peripheral bandwidth at that revision, while a single ExpressCard/54 slot offers one free expansion lane. Video output is handled through an HDMI port, and a serial port remains for legacy equipment. The dock connector supports proprietary docking solutions only.

Chassis design and daily handling implications

The magnesium alloy chassis measures 31.3 cm by 23.8 cm by 3.9 cm with a starting weight of 1.98 kg, making it portable for field deployment. Sealed ports and the internal backlit keyboard resist dust and moisture ingress during outdoor use. The convertible hinge allows tablet mode for clipboard-style work, while the capacitive touchscreen operates with gloves. A 65W AC adapter powers the system and charges the lithium ion battery.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 256GB SSD or a larger capacity for this V110 G4?

The 256GB SSD is the only capacity offered for this configuration. It provides solid-state speed for the operating system and core applications on the rugged platform.

What does the i5-7200U 2.5GHz up to 3.1GHz mean for daily work on this laptop?

The dual-core processor runs at a 2.5GHz base and can boost to 3.1GHz for short bursts, handling office tasks and web browsing smoothly within the rugged chassis.

What does the USB 3.0 interface cap at for file transfers on this unit?

Four USB 3.0 ports each support up to 5 Gbps theoretical bandwidth, so external SSDs or docks will be limited by that ceiling in practice.
