Install CPUs, Memory and GPUs in a 2U Chassis

Installing two processors and 24 DIMMs demands careful alignment in the dense 2U layout; the 288-pin slots are keyed for DDR4 3200 RDIMM or LRDIMM modules only. Eight full-length PCIe Gen4 GPU slots require matching dual-slot cards and adequate airflow, while the two half-length low-profile slots suit add-on controllers. A SAS controller card must be added before SAS drives will function.

Verify Rack Depth, Power and Cooling Before Order

Confirm the rack provides enough depth for a 2U unit with eight double-slot GPUs and eight 2.5-inch hot-swap bays split between SATA/SAS-only and SATA/SAS/Gen4 NVMe trays. Dual 10GbE BASE-T ports use the Intel X710-AT2 controller. The Aspeed AST2600 provides VGA and remote management. Ensure the power infrastructure can support the chosen CPU and GPU combination.
