The Gigabyte R283-S92-AAE3 is a 2U rackmount barebone designed for dual 5th/4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors, including the Xeon CPU Max Series. It targets organisations building virtualisation hosts, cloud nodes or big-data analytics clusters that require high core counts and memory bandwidth in a compact chassis.

32 DDR5 slots and mixed storage bays

The platform provides 32 DDR5 RDIMM slots across eight memory channels, freeing designers from dense DIMM planning constraints. Twenty-four front 2.5-inch bays accept Gen4 NVMe, SATA or SAS drives in any combination, while four full-height half-length PCIe Gen5 x16 slots remain available for accelerators, networking or storage controllers.

Dual ROM and dual 1GbE LAN

A dual ROM architecture adds firmware redundancy for platform reliability. Two onboard 1GbE ports driven by an Intel I350-AM2 controller handle management and baseline connectivity without consuming a PCIe slot, leaving all four Gen5 slots open for higher-speed fabrics.
