E-ATX AM5 board with 24+2+2 power phases, 5 M.2 slots, PCIe 5.0 x16, dual 10 GbE LAN, WIFI7, Bluetooth 5.4 and USB4 Type-C
Model X870E AORUS XTREME X3D AI TOP
The GIGABYTE X870E AORUS XTREME X3D AI TOP motherboard is built for AMD Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 series processors in the AM5 socket. It uses the X870E chipset and an E-ATX form factor to deliver a 24+2+2 digital twin power phase design across an 8-layer PCB. The board targets enthusiasts who need maximum CPU headroom and extensive I/O for high-end workstations or gaming builds.
The package adds two USB4 Type-C ports, a 65 W front-panel QC-USB connector and a Sensor Panel Link USB-C DP header for internal display panels. Dual 10 GbE LAN, WIFI7 and Bluetooth 5.4 provide wired and wireless throughput for heavy data movement. Five M.2 sockets (two PCIe 5.0, three PCIe 4.0) and four SATA 6 Gb/s ports give dense storage options with RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 support for NVMe and SATA arrays.
The primary PCIe 5.0 x16 slot runs at x16 with Ryzen 9000 and 7000 CPUs, but drops to x8 or x4 with Ryzen 8000 series processors. The chipset-linked PCIe 4.0 x4 slot becomes unavailable when the M2D_SB M.2 connector is populated. DDR5 memory tops out at 256 GB across four 288-pin slots with EXPO and XMP 3.0 profiles up to 9000 MT/s overclocked. Audio is limited to two channels via ESS ES9280AC and ES9080 DACs.

The board uses the standard AM5 socket with a 24+2+2 phase VRM layout and integrated I/O shield. Cooler clearance depends on the cooler's own dimensions; check the cooler maker's AM5 compatibility list for E-ATX boards.
The board supports DDR5 speeds up to 9000 MT/s (OC) across four 288-pin slots with AMD EXPO and Intel XMP 3.0 profiles. Achieving 8000 MT/s with all four slots populated depends on the memory kit and CPU memory controller quality.
Yes. The M2A_CPU slot is wired to the CPU and supports PCIe 5.0 x4/x2 SSDs when a Ryzen 9000 or 7000 series processor is installed. With Ryzen 8000 series the same slot runs at PCIe 4.0 speeds.
