8GB DDR3 1600MHz ECC registered DIMM for PowerEdge and Precision Workstation servers
This 8GB registered DIMM runs at DDR3-1600 with CL11 latency and 1.5V operation. It is built for Dell PowerEdge and Precision Workstation systems that require ECC error correction and registered signalling. The dual-rank 2Rx8 organisation uses 512x8 chips on a standard 240-pin form factor. Buyers needing non-ECC or unbuffered modules for consumer boards cannot use this part.
The module operates at the standard DDR3 voltage of 1.5V without elevated power draw. Passive cooling through normal chassis airflow is sufficient; no additional fan or heatsink is required. Registered buffering adds negligible latency while reducing electrical load on the memory controller. Noise remains unchanged because the component has no moving parts.
On-board ECC detects and corrects single-bit errors to protect data integrity in long-running workloads. Registered signalling allows larger memory populations per channel by reducing electrical loading on the server board. These traits are mandatory for the listed PowerEdge and Precision models; systems without registered-memory support will not POST with this module installed.

Power off the server, open the chassis, align the module notch with the slot key, press firmly until both ejector tabs click locked, then verify in BIOS that the 8GB 2Rx8 module registers at 1600MHz with ECC active.
No scheduled maintenance is required; if a correctable error count rises or the system logs an uncorrectable error, replace the individual 8GB DIMM — modules are field-replaceable without tools.
The memory controller's maximum supported rank-per-channel limit is reached before bandwidth or thermal limits, capping total installed capacity per channel on supported PowerEdge and Precision platforms.
