Chrome wire shelf for adjustable storage

The Global Industrial S1448C is a 48 by 14 inch chrome wire shelf designed to expand or customize existing shelving units. Its hard, durable finish suits retail display while withstanding warehouse conditions. The shelf is sold individually for builders who need extra tiers. It is not for buyers who want a complete freestanding unit with posts and feet included.

Tool-free adjustment with included sleeves

Each shelf ships with four plastic sleeves that lock onto the posts, allowing height changes without disassembling the whole unit. Installation simply slides the shelf over the sleeves until it seats firmly. The process fails when sleeves are omitted or mismatched to the post diameter, leaving the shelf unstable. No tools are required beyond hands.

48 by 14 inch footprint decides fit

The single specification that determines compatibility is the 48 by 14 inch deck size, which must match the post spacing of your existing frame. A shelf that is wider or deeper than the uprights will not sit on the sleeves, while a smaller shelf leaves gaps that reduce load capacity. Verify the exact dimensions before ordering.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the shelf is level and secure once the four plastic sleeves are clipped onto the posts?

After clipping the four included plastic sleeves onto the posts at the desired height, set the 48 by 14 inch shelf onto them; the shelf should sit flat with no wobble and the sleeves should lock into the wire grid.

The listing mentions four plastic sleeves — are mounting posts, casters or wall brackets also included?

Only the chrome wire shelf and the four plastic sleeves are supplied; posts, casters, wall brackets and any other accessories must be purchased separately.

I see the model reference 1448 — does that mean there are other depths or lengths I should consider?

The 1448 designation corresponds to this 48 inch long by 14 inch deep shelf; other lengths and depths carry different model numbers.
