GL45 Cap and Autoclave Limits

The supplied GL45 polyethylene cap is autoclavable, allowing steam sterilisation of the bottle and its contents. Polyethylene softens above its melting range, so the cap is not suitable for dry-heat ovens or flame sterilisation. The borosilicate glass body withstands repeated autoclave cycles, but the plastic closure defines the upper temperature limit for the assembled unit.

The bottle meets ASTM E438 Type I Class A, confirming a borosilicate 3.3 glass formulation with high chemical durability and low thermal expansion.
