It fits a PCIe 3.0 x4 slot and includes both full-height and low-profile brackets for flexible installation. Copper reach limits at each speed tier

Cat 6a cable supports the full 10 Gb/s rate up to 100 metres, while Cat 5e tops out at 5 Gb/s over the same distance. The controller negotiates down through 2.5 Gb/s, 1 Gb/s and 100 Mb/s automatically, so legacy cabling still works but cannot reach the highest tier. Flow control and IEEE 802.3bz NBASE-T compliance keep the link stable across all supported rates.
