Dell PE2950 48 V DC unit

This power supply delivers 750 W from a 48 V DC source and is built to the ATX form factor. It matches the Z750N-00, GW149 and GM928 part numbers used in Dell PowerEdge 2950 servers. The unit is supplied new and has been tested for correct operation.

Thermals, noise and power draw

Normal server airflow keeps internal temperatures within design limits while the fan runs at the speed demanded by load. Acoustic output is typical for a 1 U rack supply under steady operation. Input current scales with output demand up to the rated 750 W ceiling.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Z750N-00 unit into a PE2950 server and which step is often missed?

Slide the 750W module into the PE2950 bay until the latch clicks, then tighten the captive thumbscrew; the step often missed is securing that screw before powering on.

What maintenance or replacement will the GW149 GM928 supply need later?

Clean the intake vents every few months; if the internal fan becomes noisy or the 48V output drops under load, replace the whole Z750N-00 module.
