The unit matches part numbers 0XKY89 and XKY89 for direct compatibility. It suits administrators replacing a failed module or keeping a spare on hand.

Thermals noise and power draw

The supply operates at its rated 450W capacity within the R430 thermal envelope. Fan speed scales with load and inlet temperature to maintain stable airflow. Questions about this item

How is the 450W power supply installed in the Dell R430 server?

Slide the unit into the chassis until the latch clicks, then connect the line power cable to the DPS-450AB-6 input; the step often missed is seating the latch fully so the supply locks in place.

What maintenance or replacement will the 450W unit need later?

The internal fan is the only wear item; plan to clean dust from the intake every few months and replace the whole DPS-450AB-6 module if the fan becomes noisy or the supply fails self-test.
