Thermals noise and power draw

Standard ATX cooling keeps internal temperatures stable under typical server loads. Acoustic output remains at expected levels for a 650 W switching supply in a rack chassis. The unit draws only the power demanded by the connected components up to its rated maximum.

Questions about this item

How is the 650W unit installed in an R520 G6 chassis?

Slide the power supply into the rear bay until the latch clicks, then secure the captive screw; the step often missed is fully seating the mainboard power connector before tightening the screw.

What maintenance will the 650W supply need over time?

Clean the intake vents periodically to prevent dust build-up; the internal fan is the only moving part and the unit has no user-serviceable components, so replacement is only required if the supply fails.
