What this radio is and who it suits

The Goodes GES-FM006 is a compact AM FM portable radio designed for indoor, outdoor and emergency use. It runs on two AA batteries and weighs 0.159 kilograms, making it easy to carry in a bag or keep in a preparedness kit. Seniors and children will find the simple controls straightforward to operate.

Reception range and where it stops

The DSP anti-jamming chip tunes FM from 87 to 108 MHz and AM from 520 to 1710 KHz. A 6-section 16.5-inch telescopic antenna rotates 360 degrees to pull in distant stations, though very weak or heavily shielded signals may still fall below the noise floor. Battery power means reception continues during grid outages until the cells are depleted.

Build, controls and daily connections

The chassis measures 13.0 in by 7.0 in by 3.0 in and houses a large magnetic speaker for clear stereo output. A tactile AM/FM toggle, oversized tuning dial and volume knob provide glove-friendly operation. A 3.5 mm headphone jack switches audio to private listening without muting the speaker automatically.

Questions about this item

Will the 16.5-inch telescopic antenna still pull in stations if I keep the radio near older appliances?

The 6-section 360-degree rotatable antenna and DSP anti-jamming chip are designed to improve reception and reduce interference from nearby electrical equipment.

How can I confirm the tuner is locking onto the full FM and AM ranges after I insert the batteries?

Turn the large channel tuner; you should hear stations across FM 87-108 MHz and AM 520-1710 KHz with clear stereo sound from the built-in speaker.

What comes in the box and what do I need to buy separately to start listening?

The radio itself is included; you must purchase 2 AA batteries separately as they are not supplied.
