Cord Reel Capacity and Reach

The GOODYEAR extension cord reel supplies 40 feet of 14AWG SJTOW cable on a spring-driven retractable drum. It is built for workshops, garages or job sites where a long, heavy-duty power feed must be deployed and stowed quickly.

Setup Checks Before Use

Confirm the supply outlet matches the plug-in installation type and that the 12-pound unit can be mounted securely on the intended surface. Verify the 14-gauge capacity suits the amperage of the tools you plan to run and that the 15 by 6.4 by 9.2-inch footprint fits the available space.

Thermal Noise and Power Behaviour

The enclosed driven spring and polypropylene housing keep moving parts protected from dust and debris during automatic retraction. An LED indicator on the triple-tap connector shows when power is present, while the ratcheting lock holds the cord at any length without continuous spring tension.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and do I need to buy a plug or mounting hardware separately?

The reel ships as a complete unit with the 40 ft 14 AWG SJTOW cord, triple-tap LED connector and integrated slow-retraction spring already installed; no extra plug or mounting brackets are required.

Should I choose the 14 AWG 40 ft version or a different gauge and length?

The only model listed is the 14 AWG 40 ft SJTOW reel rated for heavy-duty use; other gauges or lengths are not offered in this product line.

What does the 14 AWG rating mean when I plug in tools on a job site?

The 14-gauge copper conductors deliver standard household current for drills, lights and saws across the full 40 ft without excessive voltage drop.
