Unlocked 5G phone for GSM carriers

The Google Pixel 6 Pro is an unlocked smartphone that operates on GSM networks only, with no CDMA support. It ships with 128GB of storage and 12GB of RAM, running Android on a 6.7-inch display. Buyers who need CDMA compatibility or expandable storage should look elsewhere.

Tensor processor under sustained load

The Google Tensor chipset handles everyday tasks and 5G connectivity across a wide range of supported bands. During prolonged use the 6.7-inch 1440 x 3120 panel maintains its 19.5:9 aspect ratio and ~512 ppi density without throttling the interface. Heavy workloads that demand continuous peak output may see managed performance.

Check carrier bands before ordering

Confirm that your GSM carrier supports the listed 5G bands before purchase, as compatibility varies by network and region. The device will not function on CDMA networks under any circumstances. Returns for network incompatibility are subject to a restocking fee, so verification is essential.

Questions about this item

Does the Tensor processor run hot or draw much power when the 6.7 inch display stays on all day?

The Tensor chip is built for sustained workloads on the 6.7 inch 1440 x 3120 panel, and the 12 GB of RAM keeps background tasks resident so the CPU can idle more often, limiting heat and battery drain during long sessions.

What must I already have for this unlocked GSM-only handset to connect to my network?

You need an active nano-SIM or eSIM profile from a GSM carrier that operates on at least one of the listed 5G bands such as 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 12, 14, 20, 25, 28, 30, 38, 40, 41, 48, 66, 71, 77 or 78.

Will my older Bluetooth headphones and 4G SIM work with the Pixel 6 Pro without extra setup?

Yes, the phone falls back to 4G, 3G and 2G GSM networks automatically, and standard Bluetooth audio profiles pair with existing headphones just like any Android 12 device.
