Smartphone purpose and audience

The Google Pixel 8 is a fully unlocked 5G smartphone with 256GB of storage in Obsidian. It suits anyone who wants a compact Android handset ready for any carrier without a contract.

Build quality and daily connectivity

The handset uses Gorilla Glass Victus on front and back with an aluminium frame measuring 150.5 x 70.8 x 8.9 mm and weighing 187 g. A nano-SIM slot and eSIM support let you activate service instantly or keep two numbers on one device.

Practical limits of the platform

The 6.2-inch OLED panel runs at 120 Hz with HDR10+ and peaks at 2000 nits for outdoor visibility. On-board storage is fixed at 256GB with no expansion slot, so heavy media libraries must rely on cloud sync. Graded B units may show dents, chips or hairline screen scratches.

Questions about this item

What 5G bands does the Pixel 8 support, and what real-world speed ceiling should I expect?

The phone uses Google Tensor G3 with integrated 5G modem. Actual throughput depends on carrier deployment, signal quality, and network congestion rather than a fixed device cap.

Will the 150.5 x 70.8 x 8.9 mm frame fit my existing phone mount or car holder?

The 6.2-inch OLED body measures 150.5 mm tall, 70.8 mm wide and 8.9 mm thick. Most adjustable mounts that accept phones up to 75 mm width will hold it securely.

How do I move my number to the Nano-SIM or eSIM, and which step do people skip?

Insert the Nano-SIM or scan the carrier QR code for eSIM activation, then complete the on-screen carrier setup. Many forget the final carrier confirmation step, leaving the line inactive.
