Unlocked 5G phone for everyday users

The Google Pixel 8a 5G is a factory-unlocked smartphone that runs Android 14 on a Google Tensor G3 chip. It offers 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage in an Obsidian finish. The 6.1-inch OLED panel reaches 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 2000 nits. IP67 dust and water resistance adds durability for daily carry.

Stepping up from older Pixels or budget Androids

Buyers moving from a Pixel 6a, 7a or a mid-range device gain the newer Tensor G3 processor, a faster 120 Hz display and the brighter OLED panel. The upgrade is worthwhile when smoother scrolling, improved computational photography and longer software support matter more than a larger screen or expandable storage.

128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM headroom

The 128 GB capacity holds a typical mix of apps, photos and offline media without constant management. 8 GB RAM keeps multitasking fluid for social, streaming and productivity workloads. Heavy local video libraries, large game collections or professional RAW photography workflows will exceed the available space and memory.

Questions about this item

Will the 152.1 x 72.7 x 8.9 mm dimensions fit a standard phone mount?

The body measures 152.1 x 72.7 x 8.9 mm and weighs 188 g, so most universal cradle or magnetic mounts that accept phones up to roughly 6.1 inches will hold it securely.

What is the correct way to insert the Nano-SIM so the tray seats properly?

Use the ejection pin to remove the tray, place the Nano-SIM with the gold contacts facing down and the notched corner aligned, then slide the tray back in until it clicks flush with the aluminum frame.

How often should the 64.0 MP rear camera lens be cleaned to keep photos sharp?

Wipe the Gorilla Glass 3 lens cover with a microfibre cloth whenever fingerprints or dust are visible; the IP67 seal protects the internals, but a dirty lens will still soften 64.0 MP shots.
