Sink-top disposal actuator

The Gourmetier Trimscape air switch button mounts on the sink or countertop and sends a pulse of air through a hose to start the disposer. It replaces a wall-mounted electrical switch, keeping wet hands away from mains voltage. The brushed-nickel finish coordinates with common faucet hardware. Model 318 is supplied new.

Installation context

The button requires a compatible air-activated control box and tubing, which are not included, to complete the circuit. It fits a standard sink or countertop cut-out, freeing wall space for backsplash or cabinetry. The stainless-steel and plastic construction resists moisture and cleaning agents. No electrical wiring runs to the countertop location.

Included hardware

Only the push-button actuator and its brushed-nickel trim ring are in the package. The air hose, control module and mounting hardware must be sourced separately. The choice of finish lets the button match nickel, chrome, brass or bronze fixtures without additional parts. No software or electronic configuration is involved.

Questions about this item

How does the air-switch mechanism hold up when the disposal runs for several minutes at a time?

The pneumatic button sends a burst of air through the hose to trigger the disposer, so the switch itself carries no electrical load and is unaffected by long run times.

Does the button or the air hose generate noticeable noise or heat during all-day kitchen use?

The switch is a passive pneumatic actuator; it produces no heat and only a faint click when pressed, while the hose remains silent.

What existing disposer hardware is required for this button to operate?

The button must be paired with a compatible air-switch control unit that mounts under the sink and connects to the disposer's power supply.
