48-port Layer 3 managed switch with 40 PoE+ and 8 PoE++ ports plus 6 SFP+ uplinks
The Grandstream GWN7816P is a 48-port Layer 3 managed network switch designed for enterprise environments that require scalable and secure wired connectivity. It provides 48 Gigabit Ethernet ports alongside 6 SFP+ uplink ports for fiber aggregation. The switch targets IT teams building high-performance business networks with centralized control.
The unit delivers Power over Ethernet across 40 PoE+ ports and 8 PoE++ ports with smart power control that allocates budgets dynamically per port. This allows sustained operation of power-hungry devices such as wireless access points and IP cameras without manual reconfiguration. Fault detection and dual system file redundancy protect uptime during extended load.
Stacking support is listed as pending, so multi-switch redundancy and single-pane management across units are not yet available. The embedded controller works with GWN.Cloud and GWN Manager for cloud or on-premise administration. IPv4 and IPv6 deployment is supported, but advanced routing protocols are not detailed in the specifications.

The switch uses smart power control to allocate PoE, PoE+ and PoE++ budgets dynamically per port, reducing unnecessary draw and heat during all-day operation.
Six Gigabit SFP+ ports accept standard SFP+ transceivers; the 48 Gigabit Ethernet ports use Cat5e or better copper cabling for 1 Gbps links.
Stacking support is listed as pending, so current firmware manages each unit independently through the embedded controller, GWN.Cloud or GWN Manager.
