Extended power for Olympus cameras

The Green Extreme BLS-50 is a 7.2V 1100mAh lithium-ion battery pack built for Olympus OM-D and PEN series cameras. It targets photographers who need a reliable spare or replacement cell for longer shooting sessions. The pack fits models such as the OM-D E-M10 and STYLUS 1, delivering consistent voltage for stable operation.

Capacity and headroom

The 1100mAh rating provides enough energy for extended capture of stills and video before a recharge is required. Heavy continuous use such as long bursts or 4K recording will drain the cell faster, so carrying a second pack is advisable for all-day events. The lithium-ion chemistry holds charge well during storage between outings.

Charger integration and plate system

This battery works with Green Extreme Dual Smart Charger (GXCH1) and Single Smart Charger (GXCH2) units that use interchangeable adapter plates. The plate system lets you charge multiple battery types on one charger base, reducing the need for separate wall adapters. Automatic voltage detection on the charger ensures safe charging for each mounted cell.

Questions about this item

Will the 1100mAh capacity keep my older Olympus OM-D E-M10 shooting as long as the original battery?

The 1100mAh lithium-ion pack matches the voltage and form factor of the original BLS-50, so your OM-D E-M10 will see the same run-time per charge.

How can I verify the 7.2V pack is charging correctly on the Green Extreme smart charger?

The charger's LCD screen shows real-time voltage and charge progress; a steady 7.2V reading and a full-bar icon confirm the battery is working as intended.

Does the box include a charger or only the battery plate?

Only the BLS-50 battery plate is supplied; the Green Extreme Dual Smart Charger (GXCH1) or Single Smart Charger (GXCH2) must be purchased separately.
