Three-colour drum set

The GREENCYCLE DR221 compatible drum unit three-pack supplies cyan, magenta and yellow drums for Brother laser printers. Each drum is rated for 15000 pages at .05 coverage and replaces the OEM DR221CL set. The pack targets offices and home users who print colour documents on the listed Brother models and want a new aftermarket alternative.

Printer model check

Confirm that the installed machine is one of HL-3140CW, HL-3150CW, HL-3170CDW, HL-3180CDW, MFC-9130CW, MFC-9330CDW, MFC-9340CDW or DCP-9020CDN. The drums are not compatible with monochrome-only Brother printers or with models outside this series. Verify the current drum part number matches DR221 or DR-221 before ordering.

Included manual and installation steps

A user manual ships with the three drums and outlines a four-step fitting process: shake each toner cartridge six to eight times, remove the orange protective cover, insert the toner into its drum unit, then seat the combined assembly into the printer until it clicks. No additional software, chips or tools are supplied in the box.

Questions about this item

What comes in the 3-pack and do I need to buy toner cartridges separately?

The pack contains one cyan, one magenta and one yellow DR221 drum unit plus a user manual. Toner cartridges are not included and must be purchased separately.

Which colour drum units should I choose for my Brother HL-3170CDW?

The 3-pack supplies all three colour drums — cyan, magenta and yellow — which are the exact set required for colour printing on the HL-3170CDW.

What does the 15000-page yield mean for everyday printing on my MFC-9330CDW?

Each drum unit is rated for 15000 pages at .05 coverage, so under typical office use you can expect roughly that many prints before the drum needs replacement.
